Psychological Consulting Resources, PLLC.,Virginia Beach, VA  Sole owner providing forensic evaluations for Courts including parenting capacity evaluations, custody evaluations and psychological damages evaluations.  Practice has conducted over 300 parenting capacity evaluations. Consult with local business owners to increase employee and owner communications and job satisfaction to increase productivity, efficiency and revenues.  Perform risk assessments and fitness for duty evaluations for companies and corporations.

 

Qualified expert in clinical psychology, child custody and parenting evaluations in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Northampton County, Juvenile and Circuit Courts and Charlottesville and Danville, Virginia Juvenile Courts.

 

Atlantic Psychiatric services, P.C.,Virginia Beach, VA  Clinical Psychologist, providing psychotherapy and psychological assements services for Children, Adolescents and Adults as well as provide training for psychology interns and residents. Conduct parenting, custody and disability evaluations.  

 

City of Norfolk, Parental Reunification Program

Singularly wrote and received three year grant project for $209,000.00 that would perform assessments of families with children in Foster Care to determine their readiness for reunification.  This grant has since been renewed for five additional years.

 

1999-2006   WVMI, Richmond, VA 

Assisted in developing and providing review services across the Commonwealth of Virginia for children utilizing CSA funding. Assisted in development of Medicaid Guidelines for Residential treatment and Therapeutic Foster Care programs Provided training regarding Utilization Management and Treatment Planning.

 

1996-1998       Case Management and EAP, Sentara Mental Health Management, Norfolk, VA

·        Clinical Director of the daily operations for a regional managed care company that covered 800,000 lives. 

·        Accountable for the clinical and business administration of a 34 bed psychiatric unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

·        Responsible for an EAP organization of 286,00 individuals utilizing both internal staff model services and assessment and referral services across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

 

1995 -1996      United Behavioral Systems of Virginia, Norfolk, VA

                   Clinical Director/Consultant that assisted corporation in refining clinical procedures resulting in a reduced outpatient utilization of 40%.  Concurrently was successful in also reducing recipient complaints by 35% in the management of the Commonwealth of Virginia employee contract which covered 180,000 lives.

 

1992 - 1996    Avery, Finney, Wald and Associates, Norfolk and Chesapeake, VA

·        Owner/Licensed Clinical Psychologist that provided outpatient individual and family therapy to Children, adolescents, and Adults as well as psychological testing with accompanying diagnostic reports. 

·        Managing Partner /COO of practice effectively expanded one outpatient site with four Practitioners to two sites in different cities and sixteen Practitioners. Obtained two exclusive managed care contracts and negotiated preferred provider status for the practice for CIGNA patients throughout the Norfolk area.

 

1992- 1992     Network Operations, FHC Options, Norfolk, VA

                   Vice President responsible for the Development of the Network of Providers throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia and Georgia.  Developed standardized process for interviewing, screening and credentialing qualified providers for inclusion in the network.

 

1990 - 1992    CIGNA, Norfolk, VA                     

§         Regional Vice President responsible for clinical operations in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Washington D.C., covering over 300,000 lives. 

§         Participated  in the development of Cigna’s Level of Care and Preferred Practices Guidelines. 

§         Actively involved in sales efforts to large corporations such as Philip Morris and RJR Nabisco. 

§         Assisted in developing Disability Management Guidelines

§         for CIGNA.           

 

1989 - 1990     Metropolitan Clinic of Counseling, Norfolk, VA                                            Executive Director responsible for the operation of both a Staff Model HMO delivery practice and a Referral and Assessment Model of case management for 85,000 covered lives.

 

1988 - 1989     Metropolitan Clinic of Counseling, Norfolk, VA

                    Clinical Psychologist, provided outpatient mental health treatment to Children, Adolescents and Adults. Treatment modalities included but not limited to individual and family therapies, in addition to psychological testing and interpretive reporting for those covered by MCC/Cigna Health Plans.

 

1986 - 1988     Sentara First Step, Norfolk, VA

                     Project Coordinator responsible for supervision of inpatient case managers.  Established the first review process for psychological testing in a managed care setting in addition to the original review process for Partial Hospital Programs as part of the Country’s initial Demonstration Project for the Champus Insurance (for Military Dependents)..

 

1985 - 1986     Virginia Beach Public Schools, Virginia Beach, VA 

                   Clinical Psychologist provided psychological evaluations for Children in the Virginia Beach School system upon referrals from School Psychologists.
